Creating a better food system for all
Hi there. Let us introduce ourselves.
We are Ed, Carolyn, Jack and Lottie.
Ed is a fourth generation farmer from Fulbourn, Cambridge.
He has a passion for nature and farming, while also enjoying a proper beer and rugby.
Carolyn is a teacher and wondermum! She is in charge of holding the ship together, and is more of a G'n'T and Downton Abbey girl.
Jack is 5 and worryingly obsessed with farming. Not sure what a piece of farming equipment is? Ask Him! Found either digging holes or propped up somewhere reading the Farmers Weekly like an 80 year old man.
Lottie is the baby of the family, but the farming gene has hit hard. You'll often hear hear calling for tractors and cows!
And together with some of our closest friends, family and supporters, we are 'The Wandering Herd'.
Conservation & Sustainable graziers based in Cambridge (UK) using native breed livestock to create truly beautiful and biodiverse habitats in our local landscape. Follow us on our journey of regenerative agriculture, fighting for local sustainable food systems, as well as farming and family fun.

Education is at our core. We have a broken food system. We have a broken agriculture sector. Misinformation and 'green-washing' is rife. It is extremely hard, if not impossible, to shop and provide for our families in a truly sustainable and nature friendly way.
We believe that we can be part of a solution to educate both farmers and consumers out of this rut, and promote better and more informed decisions when it comes to our food and food system.
As part of our education offering we conduct several farm/grazing walks and talks throughout the year to the public, as well as offering school, college and university students the opportunity to gets hands on experience on the farm and with the animals.
We love to hear from you about all things Herd related! Cooked up a storm? Have questions? Want us to name your child?
